Dr. Easley served as a Baptist pastor in North Carolina, Southern Baptist Convention, and Kentucky, 1919-38; as a U.S. Army Chaplain, 1918-19; as Chaplain of Wake Forest College, 1928-38; and as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Relgion at Wake Forest College, 1938-1963.
