B.W. Spilman was a Baptist pastor; Field Secretary of the Sunday School Board (Southern Baptist Convention); General Secretary of the Southern Baptist Assembly, Ridgecrest, North Carolina; and Superintendent of Kennedy Home for Children, Kinston, North Carolina.
