This collection of postcards consists primarily of photographic postcards of theatre actors. Ranging from circa 1900-1910, the 99 postcards are autographed and many are addressed to "G. Sykes".

Biographical and Historical Note

Many of the postcards in this collection are addressed to "G. Sykes 'The Croft' Hampton-in-Arden Birminham". Other pieces in the collection are inscribed "To Edith".

Collection Overview

The G. Sykes Postcards are a rich collection of theatre actors, mostly from Great Britain, dating from circa 1900-1910. Primarily photographic postcards, each is autographed by the by the person depicted. Pictured performers include Marie Studholme, Gertie Gitana, Sir John Martin-Harvey, and H.B. (Henry Broadribb) Irving.
