Gertrude and Max Hoffmann were famous vaudevillian and performing arts figures. Gertrude Hoffmann was known as a vaudevillan, mimic, dancer, and the director of The Gertrude Hoffmann Girls. Max Hoffmann, one of the first arrangers to use ragtime rhythm, was a composer and musical director. The collection (1900-1956) includes music manuscripts.
