Wake Forest University was started in February 1834 as Wake Forest Manual Labor Institute and became Wake Forest College under the guidance of its first president Samuel Wait. In 1950, then College President Harold W. Tribble broke ground on the Winston-Salem campus, also known as the Reynolda campus.
The scrapbooks in this collection document University events, places, and people associated with the University due to alumni status or work status. Some of the items in the collection appear to have been created and maintained by the University News Bureau, which later was known as the University News Service and Wake Forest News, part of the Communications and External Relations team.
