The materials in this collection include interview abstracts as well as interview audio files on compact discs or audiocassettes. Historical Note

Upon the 175th Anniversary of WFU in 2009, a series of oral histories with retired University employees were commissioned, possibly by Z. Smith Reynolds Library staff. These oral histories were conducted by local historian Anne Phillips. Phillips graduated from Wake Forest College in 1958 and then did graduate work at Duke University.

Phillips spoke with former WFU faculty and staff members such as women's athletics director Dorothy (Dot) Casey, health and exercise science professor Leo Ellison, education professor J. Don Reeves, French professor Mary Frances McFeeters Robinson, theatre professor Harold Tedford, and biology professor Raymond L. Wyatt.

Collection Overview

The 175th Anniversary Oral Histories are a collection of audio interviews with retired WFU faculty and staff that were conducted by local historian Anne Phillips. During the interviews, each former faculty member was asked to give a biographical sketch of themselves and their time at Wake Forest.
