The Atlanta Journal "The Journal Covers Dixie Like the Dew" 50,000 Watts WSB "The Voice of the South" April the Third Dear Mr. and Mrs. Cash: Thank you for the kind invitation to dinner. As I explained to Helen Parker, I was scheduled to precede from the Journal to Grant Wood, another fleet footed visitor to Atlanta the Golden. Painting and Iowa are even obscurer to me than North Caro- lina and the Southern disposition, so you can imagine how he will suffer. I was mortified when the interview with you appeared bristling with typographical errors. The very least I could hope for was that you'd be favorably impressed by the Journal's mechani- cal department. I sent down corrections and a proof came back with two new errors. As far as I am concerned, you're free to loathe the mechanical department. Compliments on your grand book, best wished from the novels to come, good luck in winning the Guggenheim award, and thanks again. Sincerely, Frank Daniel
