recommend you, while in New Orleans, to try to
see Hermann Deutsch on The Item -- a most useful
and kindly man. In Austin, I hope you will meet Coney,
(the librarian at the University,) Professor Walter
P. Webb, and Donald Joseph among others. In San
Antonio, please be sure to look up Mr. and Mrs.
Rosengren who are tremendously intelligent, hard-
working booksellers doing a perfectly swell job.
The shop is in the Milam Building. And see the
Mayor, Maury Maverick, if you can.

	You are not disappointed as I
am in the sale of the book for which we tried every-
thing possible. I think the difficulty is that the

very nature of its subject matter simply doesn't
interest enough people. But you will find that in the
long run even a sale of twenty-five hundred copies
combined with the sort of press you had should give you
a step up.

	I will write to Allsion, will look forward to
news from you later on in Mexico and some manuscript
from your wife.
