Charles Aurelius Smith was a graduate of Wake Forest College (class of 1882) and member of the Euzelian Literary Society. He was a merchant in Timmonsville, South Carolina, and later served as S.C.'s Lieutenant Governor, Baptist State Convention of South Carolina President, and Southern Baptist Convention Vice President. His papers consist of biographical information, a photograph of Smith, an autograph book containing statements from Wake Forest classmates and faculty, an alumni card signed by Dr. William Louis Poteat, a class of 1892 photograph, and clippings about Smith.
