The Hotel Robert E. Lee was a 10-story tall hotel that was active between 1912 and 1971 in downtown Winston-Salem. It was demolished on March 26, 1972, in front of large crowds. In its place another, larger hotel was built. The hotel had been located on West 5th Street between Marshall and Cherry streets, roughly where the Embassy Suites is today.
