Sabbath, Jan 14
Left Richmond at sunrise and arrived at Norfolk at 10 oclock in the evening.  Sermon on board the boat by Dr. Staughton.  Expenses from R. to N. $8.31 ¼ 

Monday Jan. 15
	Conversed with a number of friends in N. and ascertained that they would cheerfully contribute for the relief of the College.  Attended a prayer meeting in the evening.

Tuesday Jan. 16. 
	Went over to Portsmouth – conversed with several individuals, and encouraged to hope that something can be done in this place for the College – In the eve.  Dr. Staughton preached in Norfolk and Mr. Wait in Portsmouth – Collections and subscriptions expected in both places in a day or two.
