Monday Jan. 1, 1827 Had a highly satisfactory conversation with the ministers who had previously convened for religious purposes – some of them will cheerfully engage in the business of obtaining subscriptions and donations for the Columbian College. All manifested a deep interest in the welfare of the Institution. Tuesday Jan. 2. Visited several friends and endeavoured to secure their exertions in favour of the College. Wednesday Jan. 3 Continued the same exertions as on the preceeding day. Attended worship in the eve. Thursday Jan. 4. Left Richmond and proceeded to Hanover C.H. Va. Friday. Jan. 5 Continued in the neighborhood of Han. C.H. Sat. Jan. 6 Left Hanover C.H. and passing through Kin William came to the house of Mr. Webb in King & Queen Co. – traveled in a private carriage –
