Brandon, Sept. 9, 1830 My dear Husband, Myself and our children arrived in Bridport four days after my date to you from N. York, and sixteen days from Newbern. We have all been in good health since that time. I found Br. J. and family well. A little boy, named Jonathan, now about three months old, has been added to his family. Both of his little sons are smart fellows. I did not find Mother at Brid-- She had been detained at home in consequence of the illness of dear sister L. P, whose health has been declining several months. Br. P. went to Bridport for me and brought me here on the last day of Aug. I found sister Lydia reduced almost to a skeleton and very feeble indeed. Her symptoms are all consumptive, and we much fear that disease has got fast hold of her system. Her Phisicians think her case very doubtful. The rest of the family enjoy their usual health. Br. P's health is much better than it was in the spring. Mother is much worn down; but she has born bourn the accumulated care and labour which has fallen upon her in consequence of sisters sickness, better than would have been expected, considering her age and infirmities. Abel is in Salem, Rollin is home, and Mylon is still at Mr. Knowltons. I have seen him but twice since my arrival, and at those times but a short time. I have had no opportunity to converse with him on the subject of religion, but have been correctly informed that he has a long time been concerned
