Double Shoals Baptist Church of Shelby, North Carolina was constituted on July 2, 1899 by members dismissed from Zion Baptist Church on July 1, 1899. The church has been a member of the Kings Mountain Baptist Association since 1899.

The manuscripts, typescripts, and mimeographed items were received on loan for microfilming and return to the church from Mrs. Theresa Lowe of Shelby, N.C. 28150 on June 9, 1995.
The scope and contents of this acquisition cover 22 volumes and range from 1899-1995 in a broken series. The records consist of minutes from church conferences from September 17, 1899 to January 1927 and from September 1, 1954 to January 8, 1995. There are also church bulletins that range from 1965 to 1994; The Chimes [church newsletter] that ranges from 1952 to 1994; subject files; and organization records of the Sunday School from 1907 to 1962, the Woman's Missionary Union from 1933 to 1943, and the Brotherhood from 1955 to 1957.
