Ebenezer Baptist Church was constituted in 1817 with 11 members. Elder William Kimsey was pastor until 1830, when Elder Jacob Cantrill was called to the pastoral office with Elder John Lyons as his assistant until 1834. Elder William Kimsey was again called to the charge from 1834 to 1835. From 1836 through 1838 there was no regular pastor. In 1839 Elder N.P. Corn was ordained and was pastor from 1839 through 1846. The church membership in 1840 numbered 46.
