Warren T. Carr was a Baptist minister and pastor emeritus of Wake Forest Baptist Church, Winston-Salem, N.C., where he served from 1964-1985. He was born April 8, 1917, in Lexington, K.Y., where he graduated from Transylvania College with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Carr was bestowed with an honorary doctorate in divinity from Wake Forest in 1965. In 1941, he married Martha Ellis Knox, with whom he had four daughters: Ellen, Meredith, Martha, and Deborah. Carr passed away on February 24, 2007, in Winston-Salem, where the family had lived in the College neighborhood.
