Dear Mr. Cash:

	Thank you so much for your letter.
I appreciate it very much, especially as I
know better than most people how busy you
must be and how hard it is to answer mail
singlehanded.

	It's good to know that both of
you may come through Atlanta on your way
south. If your plans should work out as
you hope, please try to give us a little
warning so that we can have supper together
and invite Frank Daniel, too.

	I am returning the book review
you sent me. I know you will not misunder-
stand when I say that it delighted and amused
me. There is a burden writers must learn
to bear with equanimity (if possible!),
and that is having book critics review books
we never wrote and never would never write.
