He was ordained a minister in 1955, he then spent 30 years as a pastor at the First Baptist Church of Fayetteville. In addition,from 1991-1993 he served as the President of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina. Holt, Edward Glen Biographical note

Glen Holt was pastor born on May 21, 1932, in Smithfield, N.C. He attended Mars Hill Junior College (1952), Wake Forest College (1954), and the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (1958) and was ordained a minister in 1955. Holt then worked as a preacher at Baptist churches across North Carolina, including 30 years as a pastor at the First Baptist Church of Fayetteville. In addition to pastoral duties, Holt was active in the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina. He spent three terms on the organization's General Board and, from 1991-1993, served as president of the N.C. Baptist State Convention.
