Bear Creek Baptist Church was constituted March 30, 1792, by Elders William Petty and Lazarus Whitehead. It is located seven miles north of Mocksville, N.C., on Bear Creek Road in Davie County, N.C. The church had been an arm of the Flat Rock Baptist Church until they were dismissed to form a church, August 20, 1791.
This typewritten volume, split in two, contains a brief church history (1792), church covenant (1792), meeting minutes (1792-1860) [broken series], and membership rolls of male, female and African-American (1818-1842) members. It is typewritten in a hardcover notebook. On the spine, it says Minutes of Baptist Church of Bear Creek, 1792-1860. 142 pages.
