Bear Creek Baptist Church (Mocksville, N.C.) Historical Note Bear Creek Baptist Church was constituted March 30, 1792, by Elders William Petty and Lazarus Whitehead. It is located seven miles north of Mocksville, N.C., on Bear Creek Road in Davie County, N.C. The church had been an arm of the Flat Rock Baptist Church until they were dismissed to form a church, August 20, 1791.
