The Wake Forest University School of Divinity admitted its first students in 1999. In 1998, the first faculty members were appointed by Board of Trustees. These four faculty members were Dr. Phyllis Trible, Dr. E. Frank Tupper, Reverend Samuel Weber, and Dr. Bill J. Leonard, who was the School's inaugural Dean. In the 2018-2019 school year, the Divinity School has 15 full-time faculty and two shared University professors. The student to faculty ratio is 7:1. The faculty come from 11 states, 2 countries, 15 undergraduate colleges and universities, 14 masters programs, and 13 doctoral programs.
