Historical Note

Hancocks Baptist Church was constituted on July 23, 1808 by members dismissed from Redbank Baptist Church. William P. Biddle became pastor, September 1818. This church has been a member of the Neuse I [E] (1808-1844), Union (now Eastern, 1844-52) and Pamlico I [E] (1851-circa 1872) Baptist associations. Not listed in Pamlico I after 1872. Joined Union Association in 1844.
