Holloways Baptist Church first existed as an arm of Jersey as early as 1799 when the Yadkin Baptist Association met with the arm at Holloways. This arm was transferred to Tom's Creek Baptist Church sometime thereafter. Tom's Creek dismissed members at the arm at Holloways in January, 1831 in order that they might be constituted into a church. This was done in either January or February 1831. In 1831/32 the church split over the missions question with the anti-missions element, which was in the minority, leaving the church with the records relating to the formation of Holloways.
