The Theatre Programs and Playbills Collection is an artificial collection of playbills and programs originating from the Clarence Herbert New and Robert Warrington New Papers, the Ralph J. Scales Papers, and the William Winter/F.A. Marshall Collection. The materials were listed in an index in the 1980s.

Collection Overview

The Theatre Programs and Playbills Collection contains national and international theatre programs and playbills from 1815-1975. The playbills are from countries all across the globe, including: Belgium, Canada, England, France, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Scotland, Sint Maarten, United States, and the Soviet Union, later Russia. While the collection has over 300 programs in its entirety, the majority of those playbills are from England and the United States, namely London, California, Boston, and New York.

The nature of the WFU Z. Smith Reynolds Library Special Collections and Archives means that copyright or other information about restrictions may be difficult or even impossible to determine despite reasonable efforts. The Archives and Special Collections of ZSR Library claims only physical ownership of most materials.
