- description
- Dani Benitez (they/them) began their journey as a Wake Forest student in the Fall of 2013. They took three medical leaves, returned, and eventually withdrew and transferred to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in the fall of 2019. Benitez witnessed the transformation and participated in advocacy work for increased LGBTQ+ space on campus. They were heavily involved in mental health advocacy as a public speaker on campus and found community through their vulnerability. The work they did contributed to the creation of a better campus environment for LGBTQ+ students.
