- description
- N. Valdes (they/them) was raised in Fort Lauderdale. They attended Wake Forest from 2016 to 2020 and graduated as a Political Science and WGS double major. As a freshman, they first attend the Women's Center. They were introduced to the LGBTQ Center through a friend and after spent "every moment outside of class and their bed" at the Center. Through the LGBTQ Center, they were a Change Agent. As a Change Agent, they attended the Creating Change conference in January of 2017 where they gained political, leadership skills for the LGBTQ+ social justice movement. The LGBTQ Center served as a "net" for them during their time at Wake Forest. It was a place they felt like they could always fall back on even after spending time away from the Center. Throughout their four years at Wake, they built relationships through the Center that have lasted out of college. The Center, and the people apart of the Center, help to shape their queer identity. Valdes now works in Washington, D.C. in consulting.
