- description
- Kay Lord is a member of the Wake Forest University Class of 1964. During her time at the University she was involved in many activities including the social society, Strings. In this interview, Lord talks about seeing Wake Forest being constructed at the new campus in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, stating that as one of the reasons why she decided to attend. She describes being one of the only women in her sciences classes and the close-knit community that female students created due to their being so few on campus at the time. While Strings was an important part of her Wake Forest experience, she states that many of her friendships extended beyond the boundaries of this society with many not even recalling which organization they were associated with years later.
