Sandy Watts graduated from Wake Forest University in 1973, majoring in history. She also earned a teaching credential. Throughout her time at Wake Forest, Watts was a member of SOPH, a social society for women. She also served as the freshman representative to the Women's Government Association. Watts candidly discusses the role of women in Student Government, and mentions the difference between the two student organizations. In this interview, Watts gives a great deal of historical perspective from the 1970s including the impact of the Vietnam War, Kent State, and Roe v. Wade had on the campus community. She also speaks to the importance of her education at Wake Forest and how this impacted the course of her life.
