description
Marietta Dormire is a 1956 graduate of Wake Forest University, receiving a degree in sociology. Domire was a part of the last class that graduated at the original campus in Wake Forest, North Carolina. In the interview, she recalls the differences between the two campuses and describes visits she and others took to the construction site in Winston-Salem to see the progress of the Reynolda campus. During her time at the College, Dormire was a member of the "Majorettes" and cheered on the Demon Deacons to many victories. She also discusses the friendships formed between the "Majorettes" and student athletes and shares some of these memorable highlights. Dormire was one of the first members of the Wake Forest chapter of Strings, which operated in secret on the original campus.
