title
Breaking Away: Some Essays on Influence
author
Ferrer, Kyle
abstract
This project addresses the idea of influence and the importance of style in the work of David Foster Wallace and Ralph Waldo Emerson, as well as the idiosyncrasies of a common feature of books, the epigraph. The work deals with these ideas obliquely, through a set of poetic circumstances. It is a creative attempt to explore, evoke, and otherwise illuminate some of the notions that animate the study of literature as it is interfused with certain events in my own life.
