Kenneth (Ken) Badgett graduated from Wake Forest University in 1987 with a major in History. At the time of this interview, Badgett was working as an independent researcher. During his time at Wake Forest he did not identify as gay and describes LGBTQ issues as not a main topic of conversation. Overall, Badgett had a positive experinece at Wake Forest and appreciated the safety he felt on campus. One of the defining experiences he has had with the University after graduating is his work with then Professor Michele Gillespie with the 2000 case BSA (Boy Scouts of America) v. Dale. He applauds her efforts in this case and the support of Wake Forest.
