- description
- Perry Patterson was a professor at Wake Forest University teaching economics and lecturing in Russian. He was also the Associate Dean for Academic Advising. At the time of this interview, Patterson had been a faculty member for 27 years. He describes the faculty environment as very supportive considering back in 1993 the faculty voted in favor of an anti-discrimination statement. During his time as a professor and administrator, Patterson supported the Gay Straight Student Alliance and frequently worked to make sure students felt safe and secure on campus. He talks about the connection the LGBT community has with the Women's and Gender Studies and the important role it has played in the campus community.
