- This black and white photograph depicts two men in conversation in front of the Graylyn Estate after a fire has destroyed part of the building's roof in 1980. The man on the right appears to be former Wake Forest University President James Ralph Scales. The man on the left appears to be a Wake Forest University police officer. Another police officer and fire truck are visible in the background, and the building's charred remains and exposed roof structure can be seen clearly.
