- Caption provided reads: "Buck Springs Cleanup. This image was taken in 2004, and the occasion was the brushing of the original carriage road access to the site of the Buck Spring Lodge. The lodge was built at Mt. Pisgah by George W. Vanderbilt and now resides as an interpretive area. This image was taken in the Buck Spring Overlook. Those in the photograph are parkway maintenance employees and volunteers from the Balsam Gap ranger station. This was an organized activity initiated by the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation."
