- Dr. Dean Franco is a Professor of English and the Director of the Humanities Institute at Wake Forest. Throughout his tenure at the University he has played an integral role in introducing students to diverse classes like studies in Chicana/o literature and multiethnic American writers. He was also the founding director of the Jewish Studies minor. In this interview, Dr. Franco describes the creation of the African American Studies program in detail.
