- description
- This interview focuses on Jaylen Spears' experience in African American studies courses. At the time of this interview, Spears was a senior set to graduate in 2023. Spears has an interesting perspective as the African American Studies program was created during his time as a student at Wake Forest. He states that he felt unsatisfied with many of the history classes he took and that AAS filled that void. Spears also candidly discusses the inherent biases at Wake Forest when it comes to Black students and Black studies.
