This interview is from a series conducted in LIB 290: Personal Legacies and Digital Footprints in Spring 2023. Katrina Andreassen and Ashlyn Giles are both Wake Forest Student athletes. They chose Wake because it is not too far from their homes but it is far enough. Ashlyn was committed to Nebraska first but then chose to come to Wake after the coach at Nebraska got fired and the Throws Coach from Wake went to visit her. Both of them talked about their experience here, on Wake Forest Campus and the community that being on the track team provided for them. They talked about their backgrounds, the professors that have made an impact on their lives, things that they are proud of, things that were hard when they came to Wake, places they like off campus, and a piece of advice for incoming students. Some hard things that Katrina went through is the time management aspect of college and something Ashlyn struggled with was putting herself out there and make friends outside of the track and field team. They both had an interesting and informative conversation.
