This interview was conducted in LIB 290: Personal Legacies and Digital Footprints. At the time of this interviews, Geraldine Guzman was a junior at Wake Forest University and was on track to graduate with the class s of 2024. She is majoring in politics with a double minor in psychology and Spanish. She came to Wake Forest from Gaithersburg, Maryland because she had wanted to attend college in North Carolina. She decided to apply Early Decision due to the campus and her love for the big-school feel with small class sizes. In this interview, Geraldine discusses being a first-generation college student, why she chose Wake Forest, and her first impressions of it. Additionally, she talks about the challenges she faces being away from home, how she has become more comfortable participating in class, a favorite memory from her childhood, and a high school teacher that had a strong influence on her. Geraldine's dad also has had a strong influence on her life due to his persistent and hard-working character.
