description
The recording begins with Wilson conducting a bit of class business before moving into an introduction of "The Book of Thel," poem structure and content, and Blake's movement from innocence towards experience. He also delves into the possible reasons why Thel is a woman instead of a male character, such as societal expectations, different types of desires, and sexual experience. The audio is difficult to hear through static at some points, and the last 20 or so minutes of the recording fades in and out; parts of it are totally inaudible. There are various points of laughter, coughs, seat sounds, and other background noises throughout.
