- Aubrey Martin and Phil Stewart are 1980 graduates of Wake Forest. In 1979 they helped charter Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. Martin and Stewart shared their family and educational backgrounds prior to attending Wake Forest. Martin, a native of Columbia, SC and Stewart, from Baltimore, MD, shared their initial impressions of the campus and campus community. Also discussed were memories of burning the confederate flag, and what it was like on campus before the establishment of the Office of Minority Affairs. Other topics discussed include why they chose to join Alpha Phi Alpha as well as relationship building across different communities and organizations on and off-campus.
