dc.description |
Continuing education is an essential element in providing quality medical care. Even today, because of increasingly heavy patient loads, doctors find it difficult, if not impossible, to participate in formal continuing education programs that require traveling and extended time away from the office. In 1970 an educational program was designed at Bowman Gray School of Medicine to help meet the specific needs of the practicing physician. The program involved an extensive closed-circuit television system in which weekly showings of taped televised programs were shown on a wide variety of medical topics. The taped-recorded programs were catalogued and housed in the library for future study as well as being able to be distributed to physicians located in other communities. Mr. George C. Lynch, associate professor of medical illustration and director of the Department of Audiovisual Resources, is shown here behind the camera making a taped production. The female is unknown. |
