Thomas M. Pittman was a lawyer, judge, member of N.C. Baptist Historical Society, and editor of the N.C. Baptist Historical Papers. His wife, Elizabeth Norwood (Briggs) Pittman, was the Woman's Missionary Union Corresponding Secretary and served in the Young Woman's Auxiliary. This collection documents both Pittmans. Materials are primarily biographical information on North Carolina Baptist pastors, as well as materials regarding the Junior Reserves and the Baptist 75 Million Campaign, and correspondence with other denomination leaders.

Biographical and Historical Note

Thomas M. Pittman was a lawyer, judge, member of the North Carolina Baptist Historical Society, and editor of the N.C. Baptist Historical Papers. His wife, Elizabeth Norwood (Briggs) Pittman, was the Woman's Missionary Union Corresponding Secretary, 1910-1911; Band Superintendent, 1897-1907; and Junior Superintendent of the Young Woman's Auxiliary, 1907-1924.
