Coy C. Carpenter was an alumnus of Wake Forest College (1922), professor of pathology (1926-1967), and Dean (1935-1963) and Vice President (1963-1967) at the WFU School of Medicine, then known as the Bowman Gray School of Medicine. This scrapbook contains clippings relating to Carpenter's career and involvement with Bowman Gray School of Medicine.

Biographical and Historical Note

Coy C. Carpenter was born April 24, 1900, and died November 7, 1971. He was an alumnus of Wake Forest College (1922), professor of pathology (1926-1967), the first Dean of the medical school (1936-1963), and then Vice President at the WFU School of Medicine (1963-1967). The medical school, now the WFU School of Medicine, was originally known as the Bowman Gray School of Medicine. Carpenter was married to Dorothy Mitten Carpenter, 1904-2007.
