His "Memorandum Book, Wake Forest College" [cover title] contains marriages and deaths, primarily in Orange County, North Carolina; Strayhorn's poetry and musical compositions; his religious conversion, ca. April-May, 1852; a list of North Carolina Civil War regiments (1st-38th) and their colonels; and brief entries of his movements, Oct. 1850-Dec. 1851.
