dc.description.abstract | Jim Weaver was head football coach at Wake Forest College, 1933-36, and Athletic Director, 1937-54. He coached golf and football at Wake Forest College. He served as the first Commissioner of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), 1954-70. He was also a Lt. Commander, U.S. Navy Reserve.His papers consist of biographical data, correspondence files, legal documents, photographs, and his professional files relating to his work as Commissioner of the Atlantic Coast Conference and as a participant in the Collegiate Commissioners Association. Correspondence of his wife Kate Dunn Weaver with her mother is also included. | en_US |
