Biographical and Historical Note

Hubert Kinson (1918-1956) and Imo Jean Anthony Middleton (1918-1993) were Southern Baptist Convention missionaries to Chile, 1950-1984. Hubert was an alumnus of Wake Forest College (1950). Imo Jean Anthony graduated from Woman's College of the University of North Carolina, now University of North Carolina at Greensboro. The pair married August 7, 1940, at the age of 21.

Their papers consist of biographical information; family correspondence; professional correspondence; diaries, 1935-1936; educational files from Appalachian State University, Southeastern Seminary, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest College, and the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina; financial documents; literary productions; notebooks; pictorial materials; professional files; and a scrapbook. The papers relate primarily to their missionary work in the Baptist Mission, Santiago, Chile, and to other Baptist-related work in Chile.
