  • Bills of sale and receipts for enslaved people (1854-1864) box 1 folder 3 (A promissory note for the hire of "Negro boy Bill," 1854; the purchase of two enslaved people, Nancy and Jame or James, 1854; a receipt for the sale of an enslaved person named Bill, 1858; and a receipt for an enslaved person named David "to work on fortifications around Wilmington" in 1864.)
