This symposium marked a homecoming for all things related to A.R. Ammons. In honor of one of its most famous and talented alumni, Wake Forest University hosted a symposium examining his poetry, art, and letters, as well as his contributions to American culture and the arts. The symposium had three central themes:

Ammons’ genius in poetry

Ammons’ work as a gifted painter

Ammons’ personal writings expressed through a dramatic performance of his love letters to his fiancée

This program consisted of world-class speakers, a one-act play, and the unveiling of 20 museum-quality paintings, all by or about A. R. Ammons.

Please visit our symposium website at http://zsr.wfu.edu/ammons/ for more information.
