This correspondence series consists primarily of letters, postcards, and poems sent from American poet, Diane Wakoski (1937- ) to Tony Weinberger from 1967 to 1973. Also included is a list of items in the Diane Wakoski Collection such as published collections of her poetry. Many of the items are available through Wake Forest University's Rare Books Collection.

Biographical and Historical Note

Diane Wakoski (1937- ) was born in Whittier, California. She attended the University of California at Berkeley, earning a bachelor's degree in English. She is a contemporary American poet known for the often personal subject matter to her poems. Wakoski has been writer in residence at several American universities and has been a member of the Michigan State University faculty since 1976.

Collection consists primarily of correspondence from Diane Wakoski to Tony Weinberger, including typed and hand written letters, poems, postcards, telegrams, notes, and clippings.
