Biographical and Historical Note

The Mount Pisgah Baptist Church was organized August 26, 1814 by a presbytery consisting of James Weathers and Elder Robert Thomas Daniel at Yates Meeting House. There were 25 charter members--4 males and 21 females. Daniel was chosen as their first pastor. In 1818 the church changed its name to Mount Pisgah.
